Biography

Professor James Batchelor is the Professorial Fellow of Clinical Informatics and Healthcare Innovation at the University of Southampton. He is also the Director of the Clinical Informatics Research Unit and the EDGE Programme, a collaborative group of NHS hospitals and research organisations working together to support and improve the Research and Development process through the development of the EDGE Software. James is also a Committee member and advisor to the Republic of Ireland e-Health Programme, as well as being involved in the development of clinical research standards with the University of Cologne.  James has worked in this area of research for over 15 years and is well-known within the research community, both in the United Kingdom and overseas, for his no-nonsense and practical solutions to clinical informatics.
